Brazil is as an important growth market for Statkraft, with strategic potential to strengthen and increase the company's generation of renewable energy and trading of electricity worldwide.
Statkraft has been active in Brazil since 2012, when SN Power acquired a minority stake in a local renewable energy company. Statkraft has since increased its ownership and, since 2023, has owned 100% of the shares.
The main office is located in Florianópolis in the state of Santa Catarina in the south of the country, and Statkraft has over 300 employees in Brazil.
Statkraft operates 16 hydropower plants, 33 (SPVs) wind farms, and 12 (SPVs) solar power plants that are either in operation or under construction in Brazil, with a total installed capacity of more than 2,400 MW.
After the acquisition of Enerfin in 2023, Statkraft is one of the ten largest wind power producers in Brazil.
Statkraft’s power plants in Brazil are mainly concentrated in the southern, southeastern, and northeast parts of the country.
Market activities are managed from offices in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, where the company offers services to both commercial and industrial customers.
